Small business course to begin
Wednesday, January 09, 2002
DOVER-FOXCROFT - The Incubator Without Walls project, an initiative to help start and expand businesses with five or fewer employees, begins its next course on February 6 in Dover-Foxcroft. Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from February 6 to June 5 at Penquis CAP, 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft. Through Incubator membership, business owners receive educational opportunities, marketing assistance, individual counseling and coaching, and access to scholarships and loans.

Individuals who become Incubator members learn the basics of running a small business. This training stresses that good management, effective marketing and financial controls lead to increased profits, and that business planning leads to business growth, profits and personal satisfaction. Classes are frequently augmented with guest speakers from the local business community, allowing participants to network with local accountants, web designers, bankers, insurance agents and an array of other experts.

The course and the Business Training Manual are free for Incubator Without Walls members. Call Cathy Curry at 564-7116 for an application.
