Dr. Barnes joins Guilford Medical Associates
Tuesday, February 01, 2005
GUILFORD - Haldor "Pete" Barnes, M.D. of Greenville has been hired by Mayo Regional Hospital as an interim physician at Guilford Medical Associates. Dr. Barnes began practicing at Guilford in late January and will continue seeing patients until the arrival of Raymond Fluke, M.D. in April.

Dr. Fluke, a native of Liverpool, England, has been recruited by Mayo from his current position with Pines Health Care in Van Buren, Maine. Dr. Fluke will begin working as a full-time, permanent physician at Guilford in the spring.

Dr. Barnes has over 36 years experience as a family practice physician and was recently re-certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He was a practicing physician in Wisconsin from 1967-1991, and on Cape Cod, Massachusetts from 1991-2003. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School, he is now semi-retired and living in the Greenville area.

"We are pleased to secure the services of an experienced interim physician like Dr. Pete Barnes so that there will be no interruption in care for patients in our Guilford practice," said Ben Dever, director of Mayo Practice Associates, which manages eight physician offices owned by Mayo Regional Hospital.

Dr. Barnes took over coverage in the Guilford office following the departure of Usha Reddy, M.D. after nine years of service to the Guilford community. She plans to maintain a part-time schedule at Dexter Family Practice.
