DEXTER - A delegation of ten educators visited Dexter Regional High School on Friday, January 28, 2005 to observe some of the new and innovative changes that have taken place there over the last few years. The visitors included principals, teachers, guidance councilors and a consultant from Greater Maine Schools. The visitors learned about educational reforms in Dexter’s curriculum developed to meet the Maine Learning Results, the integrated math program, Dexter’s advisory program, the Fit for Life and Outdoor Education physical education program, the operation of the Leadership Committee, and the local assessment plan. The visitors were greeted by Principal Bruce Bailey and Leadership Team co-chair Susan Abel with presentations by Mathematics teacher Roland Gilbert, Physical Education teacher Margaret Veazie, Advisory Coordinator Peter Devine and student Leadership Team member Conor Eaton. The visiting schools came to observe and to take ideas back to their own high schools. |
