Wassookeag Snowmobile Drag Races Results

DEXTER - On March 1st, the Wassookeag Snowmobile Club held their first “Ice Wars” on Little Lake Wassookeag.

The track was 660 feet long and top speed was 117mph. The beautiful day brought 31 drag racers from Mount Vernon, Dover-Foxcroft, Corinna, Detroit, Vassalboro, Ripley, Newport, Bangor, Sangerville, St. Albans, Dixfield, Augusta, Hermon, Hampden, Skowhegan and Dexter.

The results of the fun event were as follows:

STOCK CLASSES:
441-500 cc 1st Chris Nuite
501-600cc 1st Jeremy Goulette - 2nd George Morgan
601-700cc 1st Jeff Trask - 2nd David Robbins
701-800 cc 1st Jeff Trask - 2nd Jamie Corson
801-900 cc 1st David Robbins - 2nd George Morgan
901-1000cc 1st Jeff Trask.

IMPROVED CLASSES:
441-500 cc 1st Dan Boyle - 2nd Chris Nuite
501-600cc 1st Dan Boyle
601-700 cc1st Brian Wallace - 2nd Butch Foss
701-800 cc 1st Dan Boyle - 2nd Jay Pearl
801-900 1st Dan Boyle
901-1000cc 1st Dan Boyle - 2nd John Blazdell
OPEN:
1st Dan Boyle - 2nd Steve Oxley.

All winners received a cash award. There were grudge matches held as well but not recorded. Everyone had a successful and rewarding day!

Thank you to Frank Sprague for cooking in the food shack, NCRC for supplying the desserts, donuts, hot chocolate, coffee and the use of their booth. Also to Steve Wilbur for the registration booth and all the folks and friends of WSC! Job well done!
