IFW Commissioner headlines Wildlife Forum in Farmington

FARMINGTON, Maine - The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife along with the National Wildlife Federation and Maine Audubon are sponsoring a Wildlife Forum at the University of Maine in Farmington on March 20. Topics will include the management of nongame and endangered wildlife and the role of non-consumptive wildlife enthusiasts in Maine. There will also be an open question and answer segment.

Speakers at the forum will include Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Commissioner Lee Perry, IFW Director of Resource Management Ken Elowe and IFW Endangered/Threatened Species Group Leader Mark McCollough.

Attendees will also be able to fill out a survey on nongame species issues that will aid in the development of future IFW programs, as well as learn more about conserving biodiversity within the state.

This will be the first in a series of forums throughout the state. This forum begins at 7:00 p.m. on March 20, 2002 in room C of the North Dining Hall in UMF Student Center at the University of Maine in Farmington.
