We those of you that joined us for a sleigh ride enjoyed your ride. We hope to be able to provide rides again, in 2003. We are off to a very busy spring! This past Thursday, the Dexter Town Council renewed our lease at Bud Elms Field in Dexter for a term of three years. We are very excited and grateful to all those involved in keeping North Country Riding Club a great success & asset to the Town of Dexter. Our February meeting, brought members together again in planning events and activities. It was voted and passed to have a Window Display, Three Horse Shows, a Clinic, and Fall Trail Ride. Members we able to voice opinions on what they would like to see accomplished in 2002. We had open discussion on what classes to offer in our shows this year. It was agreed to try and incorporate more Walk/Trot along with Walk/Trot/Canter classes as well as adding in some "FUN" classes. Committee members have revised our show schedule and will present it at the March meeting for reveiw. Upon review the class lists will be available for the public. Our goal this year for show participants, is to be able to offer year-end awards for MEMBERS ONLY! The points and show committee members, are busy preparing rules/informational forms for members to receive. NCRC is also trying something new this year by offering a monthly newsletter, year-end awards & an advertising brochure! We are gathering sponsorships to be included in a yearly brochure, made available to members as well as the general public. Sponsorships will help raise the funds needed to print the brochure, events, and the year-end awards banquet. If you are looking for a personal ad or business ad you may be interested in this low cost advertising. Anyone interested in supporting friends, family or business, or would like to make a donation to the club and haven't been contacted by a member, please call any NCRC officer and we will be happy to help you. Ads are due in by March 27, 2002 our next North Country Riding Club Meeting, @ 6:30 Abott Memorial Library. We hope to welcome several knowledgable trainers, specialists, & local horse enthusiasts, to provide a variety of demonstrations. The clinic will be open to members & mon-members, and all are encouraged to bring your horses for some "Hands-On" assistance. We will have seating available for those wishing to attend without horses. Fees and Lunch will be determined at a later date. Watch for listings of demonstrators & times!
