Monday, March 21, 2011
DEXTER - On Wednesday March 16th, students at Dexter Regional High School enjoyed presentations on topics ranging from self esteem, fitness and fun, teen pregnancy, grief and loss, careers, college 101, teen dating violence, substance abuse, suicide prevention, self defense, and conflict resolution. Students in all grades had a chance to learn about three non-academic topics of particular interest to them. All students also went to a session on self esteem which was presented by head basketball women's coach, Cindy Blodgett, and head men's basketball coach, Jack Cosgrove from the University of Maine.

Speakers were greeted and escorted by members of the Dexter Regional High School Key Club, and then held four, forty minutes sessions speaking on their selected topic.

Some of the speakers that came were from Woman Care, Pine Tree Hospice, The University of Maine, Community Health and Counseling & Friends of Community Fitness.

Dexter Regional High School is very grateful, and would like to thank each of the presenters that came and volunteered their time to speak with the students.
