Monthly Meeting Notes: On March 11th, 2004, the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW 4298, Dexter, held their monthly meeting. Attending the meeting was President Misty Twilley, Junior Vice President Nancy Crocker, Chaplain Mae Eaton, Secretary Sarah Babcock, Treasurer Louise Greenier and Patriotic Instructor Arlene Dean. In the meeting conducted by ritual, the ladies agreed on the last date to take in care package items for troops over seas. The date was March 13th. We discussed the nomination and election of officers at the next meeting and went over bills to pay. This meeting was closed according to ritual and the next meeting set to be April 8th, 2004 at 7 PM. Any current members currently not attended are always welcome and encouraged to attend. AnyTime: A member of the LAVFW will make yellow ribbons for sale. These are in support of the troops overseas. They are made of a very durable, all weather ribbon. Large sizes, which are on the stair rails of the VFW hall, are 1.50 and smaller sizes are 1.00. All the proceeds of this are used to cover the cost of ribbon and any extra will go to benefit the Auxiliary. Anyone interested, please call Misty at 876-1145 or email us at ladiesaux4298@yahoo.com. The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 4298 would like to thank all of you who donated items for the troops overseas. Though a small turnout, we still collected a lot of items. We thank you so much and know that the soldiers will too. Knowing that people back home care will mean a lot to them. A big thank you should also go to Nancy Crocker and Mae Eaton, Auxiliary members, for helping collect these items and to Sarah Babcock who made a "care package" window at her store to help display this activity. Anyone still wishing to donate items or a monetary contribution may do so at Babcock's Collectibles and Gifts on Main Street in Dexter or by calling Misty at 876-1145. The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4298 in Dexter is currently looking for new members for the auxiliary.
