RECOGNITION OF U.S. ARMED FORCES DEPLOYED OVERSEAS WHEREAS, soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines of the United States of America are deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II; and Afghanistan in support of the War on Terrorism, WHEREAS, members of our armed forces have historically defended and helped preserve the freedoms that we hold dear, WHEREAS, the Dexter Town Council and residents of Dexter wish acknowledge the service and sacrifices made by the men and women wearing our country's uniform, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that yellow ribbons may be displayed on municipal buildings and property as a symbol of our wishes for a speedy and safe return to a grateful nation. |
