DOVER-FOXCROFT - Mayo Regional Hospital will have a new physician, endocrinologist Mark L. Henderson, M.D. providing services at its endocrinology outpatient clinic. Dr. Henderson will be seeing patients in Dover-Foxcroft one day each month, usually on the first or second Tuesday, as part of the outpatient specialty clinics scheduled at Mayo’s medical office building. His first three visits will be May 4, June 8 and July 7. Dr. Henderson will continue the services provided at the endocrinology clinic since 2002 by Cheryl Dabon, M.D. Dr. Dabon’s last visit to Mayo will be April 27. Appointments may be scheduled with Dr. Henderson by calling 564-4474. The endocrinology clinic works closely with Mayo’s Diabetes and Nutrition Center, and is located in suite 500 of Mayo’s medical office building. Endocrinology is the branch of internal medicine that concentrates on disorders of the internal (endocrine) glands, such as the thyroid and adrenal glands. Endocrinology also deals with disorders such as diabetes, metabolic and nutritional disorders, pituitary diseases, and menstrual and sexual problems. Dr. Henderson works at St. Joseph Hospital and at the Diabetes, Endocrine & Nutrition Center at the Eastern Maine Healthcare Mall, both in Bangor. He has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1983. After completing his undergraduate degree at Harvard, Henderson earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Henderson completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass., and finished fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. |
