Dexter Memorial Day Parade & Services for 2011

PARADE ROUTE AND MEMORIAL SERVICES
The Memorial Day Parade and Services on Monday, May 30, in Dexter are the same as the previous years. The parade will assemble in the Municipal Parking Lot behind the Bangor Savings Bank and leave at 10:00 AM. The route of the parade will be:
  • Exit the parking lot onto Lower Main Street;
  • Proceed up Main Street to the traffic light;
  • Turn onto Church Street and march to Dam Street and the Veterans Memorial Park.
Memorial services by the Dexter posts of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars honoring our deceased veterans will be held at the Memorial Park. There will be musical selections by the Dexter Regional High School band following the memorial ceremony. The parade will re-assemble on Dam and Grove Streets and march back to the starting point at the parking lot. photographic tribute and recognition ceremony is our way of remembering them and saying thank you."

Since its inception, the Remember ME program has recognized 330 long term care residents statewide.

Local scout groups, all veterans, active members of the armed forces, and any organizations are invited to participate. Vehicles are welcome in the parade for those unable to march. photographic tribute and recognition ceremony is our way of remembering them and saying thank you."

The Veterans of Foreign Wars will serve a lunch following the parade at the VFW home on Cedar Street.
