SAD 46 panel ponders data on school sites
Saturday, May 21, 2005
DEXTER - An SAD 46 site selection committee has been investigating two possible locations for a new school for kindergarten through eighth grade.

The committee heard a presentation from officials from Deluca-Hoffman Associates Inc. and Stephen Blatt Architects, two firms retained by the district to help with the project.

The firms' conclusion is that there is insufficient area to construct an additional 72,000 square feet of new building on Abbott Hill, where the middle and primary schools are now, according to Frank Spizuoco, a member of the site committee. There would be space problems for parking and for all-purpose athletic fields, he noted in his report this week.

The committee is eyeing property on Route 94, in addition to the Abbott Hill location
