DEXTER - The Abbott Memorial Library Board of Trustees has voted to fund the expansion of the children's reading area at the Abbott Memorial Library. The expansion will start in late summer and will probably continue into early winter. A contest to name the theme for the new area has started with the winner to be announced on July 28th. All children in the greater Dexter area grades K-8 are invited to submit their idea for the theme by picking up an application at the library or Dexter town office by July 14th. A day full of fun and special events will take place on July 28th at the Dexter Town Hall beginning at 10:00am. A Magic Show, balloon animals, face painting, book give-a-ways are just some of the activities planned for the day. First prize for the best theme is a new bike! Several other prizes will be drawn for 2nd,3rd, and 4th place. Remember to submit your application to the library by July 14th. If you have any questions, please call Margaret Towle at 433-0337. |
