DEXTER - After surveying over 8,000 senior care providers throughout the United States, Dexter Health Care has won, for a second year in a row, My InnerView's "Excellence in Action" award. Dexter Health Care was one of only eight long-term care facilities in Maine to receive this recognition out of the 519 long-term care homes surveyed in Maine. This award honors "those nursing homes that achieve high levels of quality as demonstrated by having overall resident and family satisfaction levels that fall within the top 10% of My InnerView's customer database," according to My InnerView. The survey process is one that is completed anonymously by residents, family, and/or guardians and submitted to My Innerview for tabulation. When residents and families were questioned, "Would you recommend this facility to others?" most answered yes. In this area, Dexter Health Care scored "excellent" receiving a 96% overall satisfaction rating. In 2009, Dexter Health Care received another prestigious award from the Maine Health Care Association. The award was one of five presented within the state of Maine through Advancing in Excellence. The award reads, "Carrying the Torch of Excellence," and refers to Dexter Health Care's quality improvement and advancement with Culture Change. Culture change is a transition from the stero-type nursing home to one that is more home-like. |
