Tuesday, July 25, 2006
MAINE - State Senator Carol Weston (R-Waldo County) wants to let area residents know that they still have an opportunity to apply for an any-deer permit even though the July 17th deadline has passed.

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will be accepting online applications until Friday, August 4th at 11:59 pm. The application may be filled out at https://www4.informe.org/ifw/nedeer/.

In order to apply online, you must have a valid 2006 Maine Big Game hunting license in your possession (valid lifetime and complimentary hunting licenses are also acceptable). Make sure you have your license number handy when applying. Hunting licenses may be ordered on online as well.

The Any-Deer Lottery Drawing will be held in September. Permits will be mailed to all successful applicants by late September.

The 2006 deer hunting firearms season begins October 30th and runs until November 25th. Maine Residents Only Day will be held October 28th. Sunday hunting is not permitted.

Residents interested in receiving a copy of the 2006 State of Maine Hunting and Trapping Laws and Rules booklet may contact Senator Weston at 589-4481 or 287-1505.
