Participants are asked to dress in a costume in keeping with the parade's theme "Dexter's past, present and future. Those interested in participating can register at the Abbott Memorial Library. Children must be accompanied by an adult and wear proper safety equipment such as helmets. The parade will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11. Line-up starts at 9 a.m. The parade will travel from the Fire Station to the traffic light, onto Lower Main St., left at Lincoln St., and disband at the Dexter Shoe lot on Lincoln St. Check in is at the Dexter Fire Station. After checking in, participants are asked tol ine up heading toward Dexter on the right hand side of Route 7. Turnarounds can be made at Dexter Tire. All horse drawn floats and individual riders are to assemble at the Masons Lodge starting at 9 a.m. Trailers can be parked in that lot. Prizes in various categories will be awarded at noon on Aug. 11 at the Dexter Town Hall. There is still time to enter a float in the parade. Those interested should call the Abbott Memorial Library at 924-7292 as soon as possible. |
