Dexter Historical Society to hold its annual meeting
Tuesday, August 30, 2005
The Dexter Historical Society will hold its annual meeting, with election of officers, on September 21, 2005 in the Crawford Conference Room at the Abbott Museum, 12 Church St., Dexter at 7:00 PM. The annual report will be presented. All members are encouraged to attend.

The Grist Mill Museum will return to fall hours after Labor Day. It will be open Monday through Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM until the end of September. The Grist Mill had a busy season, especially during Wild West Days when it was open into the evening, with over 1200 visitors so far. Intern Amanda Pullen and Curator Richard Whitney set up three new exhibits: one on Dr. Fitzgerald, one honoring the high school class of 1955 and a selection of new acquisitions. Some of these items are a colorful daisy quilt made by girl scouts around 1960 and a photo of the football team from 1938.

The Abbott Museum and gift shop remains open 10-4 Mon-Sat. A new display of hand colored photos by Bert Call depicts Dexter scenes as well as Moosehead Lake and Borestone Mt.

Volunteers are always welcome at both the Grist Mill and the Abbott Museum. For information call 924-5721.
