Dexter Regional High School has been commended for it's efforts on its commitment to distance learning and its principal for providing positive leadership as well as the various methods and endeavors by which student success is recognized, the positive, respectful and supportive school climate of recent years, the alternative education program for those students identified as at risk, the school's character education course and the innovative rubrics developed by teachers to evaluate students work. Dexter has an advisory program for all students grade 9-12 which consists of faculty members as well as community members who serve as advisors who meet once a week with their students to assist them with their goals. Each student has a Personal Learning Plan that identifies goals and how they are being accomplished. Portfolios have been designed to meet the Maine Learning Results, and student led conferences will be held where students will actually conduct the meetings themselves and discuss their progress with their parents. The community is welcomed and encouraged to attend this evening full of enjoyable and entertaining events, as well as have a chance to get to know and talk to school Administration and faculty.
