DEXTER - Our season ended last spring with our Landowner’s and Volunteers Banquet at TJ’s. We had a great turnout. Matt and Lynn McKusick received the Outstanding Business Award. These two people have been very dedicated to the club whether it was volunteering fixing the equipment or making cookies for the men. We awarded Mark McKusick the Outstanding Landowner Award. Mark has let us useh is land for many years. The Outstanding Member of the Year was awarded to Stewart Hopkins who has been there whether it was to repair equipment or drag the trails. This fall Wassookeag Snowmobile Club have started off the season with a clean up day on October 11. Several members worked on the yard and the building before snow. Members are now meeting every Sunday doing trail work. We are also working on a trailer to be used for registration for our Radar Runs and Drag Races and also a concession stand. If you have any material that you might like to donate, please feel free to call one of our officers. Rita Fox is again going to be in our kitchen this season. Come in and get a fantastic meal. Her doughnuts are outstanding. Our new officers this year are Scott Warren, President; Stewart Hopkins, Vice President; John Fogarty, Treasurer; and Amanda Sherburne, Secretary; Del Hopkins, Trail Master and Grant Officer; Matt McKusick, Jim Silverman, Melvin Wyman, Lynn McKusick, and Raymond Bailey, Directors; and Jim Silverman, Safety Officer. The Club has many things in the works: A Rifle Raffle Drawing on December 15; Hal Wilkins Ride & Supper on February 12; Radar Runs on February 13; Winterfest Dance on February 13; a Beef Raffle drawing on February 14; Ice Wars Drag Races on February 20; and then the Landowner’s Dinner at the end of the season. Again we would like to thank all the landowners and volunteers in making the upcoming season a possibility. Without the help of these two groups, there would be no snowmobiling. See you on the trials |
