Wendy's High School Heisman Program Monday, November 21, 2005
Each fall, the Wendy's High School Heisman Program recognizes the Nation's most esteemed high school men and women for excellence in academics, athletics and community service. Since its inception in 1994, the Wendy's High School Heisman Program has touched the lives of over 125,000 students and their families. Sabrina Cote was
nominated and became the winner for the State of Maine. Consequently, she and her family along with her coach Jody Grant attended the awards dinner and ceremony at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on November 17th. Sabrina met Irv Cross, the former Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Back, two time NFL Pro-Bowler, and former CBS "NFL Today" Commentator at the ceremony. Sabrina was among the winners from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. The final stage of the program will involve the selection of twelve National Finalists, one male and one female from six geographic regions in the
country. The finalists will attend Heisman Weekend in New York City on December 9th, and will be recognized at a special ceremony at the NY Hilton. One male and one female will be named as the National Winners at this ceremony and will be recognized during the live telecast on the Collegiate Heisman Ceremony airing on ESPN on
December 10th at 8PM. Dexter Regional High School wishes Sabrina the best of luck in making it to the National level!
