Wayside Theatre Receives King Cummings Grant from the Maine Community Foundation
Friday, December 10, 2004
Dexter’s Wayside Theatre, Inc. has been awarded a $6,500 grant from the H. King and Jean Cummings Charitable Fund and the Maine Community Foundation. The grant is to go toward production costs such as royalties, scripts, advertising, publicity, and printing expenses for the 2004-2005 Season.

On receiving notification of the grant, Wayside’s Board of Trustees President June Woodman stated: “This generous grant will allow Wayside to schedule productions in advance, in the knowledge that the funds to mount each production are available to us. It will make it possible for us to budget money for each production, and to use the income from performances for our operating expenses such as utilities and fuel. Having an advance budget will allow us to increase our community service projects, such as our free holiday parties for children and our low-cost Wayside Grange suppers, and to support our special professional guest appearances such as our very popular presentation of “Avner the Eccentric” last Season. We consider this award the turning point in Wayside’s short four-year history, and we are most grateful for this very generous gift. We will use it well.”
