LEARNING TO BE THE BOSS
DOVER-FOXCROFT--The Penquis CAP Incubator Without Walls Program will begin its next small business course on Wednesday, January 15. The course helps individuals start and expand businesses with five or fewer employees. Classes are held from 6.00 to 9:00 pm on the first and third Wednesday of each month for five months. An informational meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, at 6:00 pm. The informational session and classes will take place at Penquis CAP, 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft.

Individuals who become Incubator members learn the basics of running a small business. This training stresses that good management, effective marketing and financial controls lead to increased profits, and that business planning leads to business growth, profits and personal satisfaction. Classes are frequently augmented with guest speakers from the local business community, allowing participants to network with local accountants, web designers, bankers, insurance agents and an array of other experts.

The course and the Business Training Manual are free. An application is required. For information and an application, please call 564-7116.

These services are partially funded by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Reasonable arrangements for persons with disabilities will be made, if requested at least two weeks in advance. Contact Cathy Curry, Penquis CAP, 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426, 564-7116.
