Abbott Hill Ramblers Invited to Perform with world renowned Kruger Brothers!
Monday, December 18, 2006
DEXTER - The Abbott Hill Ramblers have been invited by the Bangor Symphony Orchestra to be one of three acts set to perform in four schools this spring.

The BSO has established an educational outreach program—“Stings Attached”—which is set to send the Abbott Hill Ramblers from Dexter, a Bangor High school Fiddlers group, and the Kruger Brothers to schools in Bangor, Ellsworth, Farmington and Kingfield.

Originally from Switzerland, the Kruger Brothers have been living and playing regularly in the US since 1997. Jens Kruger, (many consider him to be the best banjoist in the world) has composed “Music from the Spring, a romantic serenade for banjo, guitar, bass and orchestra.” The world premiere will occur in early June at the Maine Center for the Arts.

The “Strings Attached” program is another part of this ongoing collaboration of the Kruger Brothers and the Bangor Symphony.
