DEXTER – Dexter Regional Development Corporation is pleased to announce the winners of the Town of Dexter Christmas Lights Contest, judged on Friday, December 19, 2007. There were 2 categories and one winner is each. In the spirit of giving, DRDC is giving each winner a "$100 contribution" in their name, to their "Charity of Choice". 1. Residential winner is Glen and Lisa Race located at 140 Main Street Hill sporting holiday lights that dance with the music and who are donating to Toys for Tots in Dexter. -- Honorable Mention goes to Brent Stewart, Sr. on Lincoln Street who adds to his decorations each year and does a great job!2. Commercial winner is Country Charm on Main Street and Owners Dawn and Alan Wintle are generously donating to the “Steve Sawyer Healthy Future Fund". If you would like to donate to that fund, please stop by Country Charm. -- Honorable Mention goes to June Woodman of Wayside Theatre of their Annual Nativity Scene next to Country Charm on Main Street.Although we didn't have as many entries this year, (probably due to the economy), Dexter residents did a great job in decorating for the holidays. It is always a hard decision to judge which display it better than then next, but the judges enjoy our annual "Christmas lights ride" and look forward to it each year. DRDC and the judges of the contest would like to thank all the participants and people who anonymously entered others! We would also like to encourage you and your family to drive around Dexter and see the pretty holiday displays, from small and tasteful to bright and bold! A few streets that were found to be very bright are Dexter Town Office and others on Main Street, Forrest Street, Pleasant Street, Spring Street and Lower Spring Street, Zions Hill, Old Ripley Road, Acadia Street, Lincoln Street, Dover Road, Maple Street and Mill Street. Take a holiday ride and enjoy the spirit of Christmas in our community. If you have another street or location that people should check out or photos to add to our photo album, email DRDC at judy@DexterMaine.com.
