| Henry Paine Dexter dedicated his life to building Dexter. He constructed up to eighty dwellings along with the Methodist, Congregational, and Catholic churches as well as renovating the Universalist church. He built or renovated many of the business buildings on Main Street, including the present Millside Pharmacy, old Merrill Bank Building (Olmsteads) and Jim Peakes (Vickies Hair Attractions) Blocks. Mr. Dexter died in 1939 at the age of ninety-seven. |
